Today, I ride!

Yesterday was awesome! I got to ride my friend Sandy’s horse, Maggie. Maggie is lovely. She is sweet, well trained and absolutely gorgeous! I thank you Sandy for letting me invite myself, ride your beautiful Maggie, eat those amazing hotdogs and share in your dream. I literally get giddy when I smell the barn and downright jumpy when I see the horse and the saddle. Now, I am no expert rider, but I am learning more and more each time I ride. Following the diagnosis, of course, my first thought was I can’t ride. I can’t ski. I can’t. I can’t. I can’t.

So guess what? I can do it all and will continue to do so until I can’t anymore. I want to impart this wisdom on anyone with a Pd diagnosis. The saying “Pd is not a death sentence” is beyond the truth. Now, you will have crappy days. Don’t get me wrong about that. And, I too have bad days. But, yesterday was perfect and for a little while, I totally forgot about Pd.
