New friends make me laugh!
I look at my life in two phases — before and after the diagnosis. From before the diagnosis, I have my friends from the old days, like the ones mentioned above, and all of the others in and outside of Atlanta who have been there for me. I thank each and every one of you for being their for me during this crazy time in my life.
Following the diagnosis, I met an entire new group of friends. This group makes me want to not stop talking even when I am not supposed to. And, just like always, I get in trouble for talking too much. I can’t stop. I laughed the other day when I said to no one in particular that my mouth was always dry from my medication. My boxing coach chimed in and said, “maybe if you didn’t talk so much, your mouth wouldn’t be so dry.” I probably told him to shut up and punched him. We all laughed!
Who are these people? Why are they so important to me? The simple answer is that we all have one thing in common. We all have Parkinson’s.
Lesson Learned. Surround yourself with those who make you laugh, and you will laugh!😎
